Designing a Vase in TinkerCAD (Beginner)

A short tutorial on how to use TinkerCAD to create a vase targeted at beginners.

Materials

Step 1

Place a ring from the basic shapes into your workplane.

Step 2

Change the width (x axis) and length (y axis) to 50mm by 50mm.

Change the height (z axis) to 50mm.

Step 4

Using the anchors (see picture below) adjust them to you find an aesthetic you like.

Please note: Pay close attention to the thickness of the walls, if they become too small the printer will be unable to print it. In general, it is a good idea to have about a 1 mm wall thickness at the minimum.

Step 5

Using the cylinder from the basic shapes, place it at the bottom of your vase. Extend the width (x axis) and length (y axis) until it slightly intersects the walls of your vase. Finally lower the height (z axis) to around 3 mm or less.

Protip: You can change the color of your vase to transparent to make aligning the base cylinder easier.

Step 6

Select both shapes, by either drag-clicking with the mouse, or using CTRL + Click to multi-select shapes. Group the objects using CTRL + G, or clicking the group button at the top right of the interface. Congratulations! You have completed your vase.
